About the Course

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme is a two years professional programme in the field of Teacher Education which aims at preparing school teachers genaraly know as B.Ed. This is a professional programme that prepare teachers for Upper primary, Secondary level (Class VI-VIII) and Higher secondary level (IX-XII). Also aims at preparing practioners and other Education professionals including manpower for curriculum development planners, administrators, supervisors school principals and extension activities.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed., programme should be as prescribed by NCTE and UGC and State Government as listed below.

i. Candidates with at least 50% marks either in Bachelors Degree or the master Degree in Science/Social Science/ Humanity or Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto are eligible for admission the programme.
SC/ST/OBC/PWD/371(j) and any other Categories/Type shall be as per the rules of the central government/state government whichever is applicable.

ii. The Candidate should specify whether he desire to be a

a)Teacher for 6-8 and 9-10 std eligibility.

b)Teacher for 8-10 and 11-12 and 11-12 std eligibility (only for PG Qualified) Teacher for 8-10 and 11-12 std eligibility (only for PG qualified) Each one has to select to methods one each from any two groups.

Subjects Available: Language/Social Science/Science/ Mathematics/ Commerce /Physics/ Chemistry/Biology

Medium of instruction: Kannada/ English
Intake : 100 ( Each 50 of 2 units)
